January New Releases

Writer: Michelle D'HotmanMichelle D'Hotman

Let's have a look see at what new books are coming our way in January.

I loved her other books and I'm so excited to give this one a read. Sue Lynn Tan has the ability to create these detailed immersive worlds that are a pleasure to get lost in.

This story looks like it will be another amazing story. A new queen. The god of war. Dark forces at work. Sign me up!

And as usual the cover looks incredible!

I recently read this book as an ARC (Advanced Review Copy), so I may be a little biased, but this book was adorable.

It is a cute cozy fantasy about a full of sunshine, cafe owner and grumpy baby dragon owner and you get to watch them fall in love. It's sweet. It's comforting. It's romantic. And it has dragons!

Now I have never read any of the books in this series, so I am not as hype as the rest of my bookish people.

But considering all the hype I am starting to wonder if I should give this series a go. I am a bit behind though so I will have some catching up to do. It has romance and dragons and action/adventure. Could I really go wrong?

This book has me pretty interested. I has been a while since I have come across a decent vampire book. You know like a good old-school, morally grey (and I mean regularly makes you question if they might actually be the bad guy, morally grey), Prince Lestat kind of vampires.

It is the first book, in what is set to be a trilogy. Which sometimes worries me because when authors plan on books being part of a series they tend to end with 'cliffhangers' and I deeply detest those.

I was not really interested in this book at first, but the more I came across it online, the more it piqued my interest. This book gives me the same vibe as 'Before the Coffee Gets Cold', but maybe a little more trippy.

Perhaps I should wait for the audio book and listen to it after having a strong puff of the good stuff.

I'm not even going to lie, I stopped to look at this book on my Instagram because to cover looked pretty. (I mean, come one, just look at it!)

Having read the blurb though I am intrigued and think this could make for a fun romantasy. Came for the cover, stayed for the storyline.

Here are three extra special mentions:

When the Weaver Met the Gargoyle is a short easy read. I read this as an ARC and finished it in one sitting. It is a great bite-sized cozy fantasy.

All the Water in the World and The Stolen Queen are two books that are outside my usual genre preferences but they both look so darn interesting that I am really keen to given them a try.

Happy reading lovely people! If you give any of these a try let me know how you found it or if I missed any books that you think I should have mentioned drop a comment so I can have a look at it.
